For whatever reason, the random brain on my iPhone had exceptional taste today.

A quick background, I got rid of my Blackberry and iPod a couple years ago to travel lighter and only have one device. My iPhone has provided the tunes during my drive for a while. Sometimes radio in the city, but if the drive is over 30 minutes, the iPhone takes priority.

Today I had one of those drives ahead as I was heading for a round of golf (recap of that on Chasing-Par). After pulling out of the garage, I chose all songs, random, and to my surprise, whether it was my good ‘ready-to-golf’ mood or the extremely intelligent random mode, it gave me this incredible playlist on my way to the course.

I’ve been trying to built the best road-trip playlists for a while now, and today proved that it’s more about the spontaneous song that either matches your mood or surprises you. The songs might not be to your taste, but this sure did it for me.

All songs are available on iTunes and Amazon.com, hope at least one makes it your playlist for the next road trip.

Next time my iPhone random mode does this again, I’ll post Part 2.
